Moi et Toi translated from French means ‘me and you.’ This trendy ring design originated from Napoleon Bonaparte’s day as a symbol of two souls bound together against all odds.

The idea is to start with an engagement ring and add a separate colored gem ring that fits up snugly next to the engagement ring. Often the new ring has the gemstone set an unusual angle.

Jackie Kennedy’s famous engagement ring was a Moi et Toi style design by jewelers Van Cleef & Arpels. But today’s hip crowd also love the design, known to be worn by celebrities like Ariana Grande, Solange, and Megan Fox.
