New Custom Necklace

The Evolution of a design

Recently a long time client got in touch and requested a necklace to present to his wife for a milestone birthday.  We knew she loved sapphires and tailored Art Deco influenced jewelry from previous projects.  So I began by doing some sketches of possible designs and I also sent some photos of loose sapphires.

Here are the sketches:

He seemed to like the emerald cut sapphire so next I came up with a number of designs but this one below seemed to get his attention the most.

It still needed a bit of tweaking so I revised the design some and came up with this:

The final design

He loved it and we proceeded to get to work.  We had less than 4 weeks to complete!

This is what the platinum looked like before setting.

Next the gem quality diamond baguettes were selected along with the emeralds baguettes.  With a lot of blood, sweat and tears it was finished on time.  We  chose a 1.6 mm round platinum snake chain to suspend this pendant on.

Here is how it came out.

The sapphire is a beautiful blue and the clients wife was so happy with the surprise!

Perhaps it’s time for us to work together on something amazing! Get in touch today.
